PORT Adelaide young gun Jake Neade has received Round 13′s NAB AFL Rising Star nomination.
The playmaking youngster gathered six kicks, six handballs, five tackles and a goal in Port Adelaide’s massive upset win over reigning premier Sydney on Saturday.
At just 18, Neade is ultra-polished, and looks right at home at the senior level. Since the season has started, Neade has played all but one game for the Power, impressing head coach Ken Hinkley.
Hinkley today spoke about Neade’s toughness and determination despite his size:
“The thing we love about Jake is that he is never intimidated by the size of the opposition and that is important given his small physical stature,” said Hinkley.
Neade was drafted out of his native Northern Territory with a pick acquired by Port from the GWS Giants. Expect much more from this kid.
