PORT Adelaide has just released a statement that Jarrad Redden’s season is over after the ruckman underwent surgery today on his hip.
Redden, 22, has had a persistent problem all season with his right hip and opted to send him in for the procedure now given that he will also require surgery for his right shoulder after dislocating it in Darwin against the Western Bulldogs in Round 10.
explained the club’s decision.
“Reddo would have required hip surgery post-season anyway, so given that we have made the call for him to have shoulder surgery soon, it’s an opportunity to have his hip operated on now so that he is ready to resume pre-season training with the rest of the team,” said Port Adelaide high performance manager, Darren Burgess.
“Today’s surgery went well and after his imminent shoulder surgery we expect him to make a full recovery and be fit and ready for next season.”
